New Delhi – Renowned actor Mukul Dev, best known for his impactful performances in films like Krishna, Ek Niranjan, Adhurs, Kedi, and Son of Sardaar, passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 54. According to reports, the actor had been facing serious health complications and was admitted to the ICU at a private hospital in Delhi, where he breathed his last.
Mukul Dev’s career spanned over two decades, during which he appeared in several Hindi, Punjabi, Telugu, and Kannada films. He gained popularity for playing intense negative roles and supporting characters that added depth and strength to the narrative. His versatile acting style and strong screen presence made him a favorite among directors and audiences alike.
Apart from his work in films, Mukul Dev was also known for his roles in popular TV shows. He first rose to fame with his performance in Mumkin and later continued to impress in serials like Kahin Diyaa Jale Kahin Jiyaa and 21 Sarfarosh – Saragarhi 1897. His contribution to Indian television and regional cinema was equally significant.
Not just limited to acting, Mukul Dev was a man of many talents. He held a commercial pilot license and worked as an aviation trainer before entering the film industry. His diverse interests and dedication to both aviation and cinema reflected his dynamic personality.
Tributes poured in from all corners of the industry. Actor Manoj Bajpayee took to social media, writing, “Gone too soon, too young.” Vindu Dara Singh and Deepshikha Nagpal also shared their condolences, recalling their fond memories with the late actor. Fans from across the country have taken to social media to express their shock and sorrow.
Mukul Dev is survived by his daughter Sia Dev, brother Rahul Dev, and other family members. His funeral is scheduled for 5 PM today in Delhi. The Indian film industry mourns the loss of a talented, versatile, and humble artist who left an unforgettable mark through his performances.
