“Biggest Mistake of My Career!” Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas’ Shocking Regret Over ‘Chatrapathi’ Hindi Flop

Telugu star Bellamkonda Sai Sreenivas recently opened up about his regret over remaking the hit 2005 Telugu film *Chatrapathi* in Hindi. In a 2025 interview, he admitted, “I shouldn’t have done it.” The original, directed by S.S. Rajamouli and starring Prabhas, was a blockbuster loved for its action and emotional story. Sreenivas thought the Hindi version, released in 2023, would be a perfect Bollywood debut, but it turned out to be a big disappointment.

Sreenivas believed *Chatrapathi*’s story of a young man fighting injustice would connect with Hindi audiences. Directed by V.V. Vinayak and co-starring Nushrratt Bharuccha, the remake added new twists to feel fresh. But critics slammed it, calling it “outdated” and “cringe-worthy.” They said the story felt flat, the action was overdone, and Sreenivas, though hardworking, lacked the charm to match Prabhas’ iconic role. Fans of the original were upset, feeling the remake didn’t capture its magic.

The failure hit Sreenivas hard. He thought a strong story and a good team would guarantee success, but the film flopped at the box office. “Some stories are better left alone,” he said, reflecting on the lesson. Fans admire his honesty and are rooting for his comeback. While the Hindi *Chatrapathi* didn’t work, Sreenivas is ready to bounce back with new projects that show his true potential.
