In a surprising development, Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone has reportedly exited Spirit, the much-awaited pan-India film directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Prabhas in the lead role.
According to insider sources, the decision was made due to multiple creative and professional differences between Deepika and the director. Key issues included Deepika’s unwillingness to speak Telugu for the role, high remuneration demands, and discomfort with Vanga’s intense and perfection-driven working style.
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for blockbusters like Arjun Reddy and Animal, is said to be highly punctual and detail-focused, expecting the same from his cast. However, reports suggest that these expectations did not align well with Deepika’s approach, leading to a mutual decision for her to step away from the project.
With Deepika out, the hunt for a new lead actress is currently underway. Fans are now eager to see who will be paired opposite Prabhas in this ambitious action drama.
Spirit is one of the most anticipated Indian films and marks Vanga’s first collaboration with pan-India star Prabhas. Despite the casting shakeup, the makers remain confident about delivering a high-impact cinematic experience.
